A Virtuoso of Singing

Pujya Acharya Shri Jinchandrasagar Suri Maharaj Saheb, the elder Bandhu (brother) in the divine duo known as Bandhu Beladi, was gifted from childhood with a melodious voice—like the sweet song of a cuckoo.

He was a connoisseur of music and especially skilled in vocal art. When he sang, the temple would overflow with hundreds of devoted listeners. His love for music was profound, yet always rooted in deep spirituality.

Even legendary musicians such as Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Gajanan Thakur, and Pt. Mohanlal Ji, after performing themselves, would be mesmerised by Pujya Shri’s spiritual singing. His devotional melodies would leave even the most accomplished musicians in awe.

Whenever Pujya Shri led samuh bhakti (group devotion) in sacred places like Siddhachal or Shatrunjay Tirth, it would become a festival of devotion — every listener immersed in divine love.

It was an extraordinary coincidence that the day of his passing was also the Mahavad Ekadashi, the Kevalgyan Kalyanak day of the first Tirthankar, Bhagwan Shri Adinath. That very night, he sang divine hymns and stutis in his sweet, soul-stirring voice — and it was in that sacred musical devotion that he attained samadhi.

A Stream of Mutual Love

The mutual affection between the two Acharyashris of Bandhu Beladi was deeply moving— Witnessing their bond would remind one of Ram and Lakshman. Their love was expressed as deep bhakti toward their elders and warm vatsalya (affection) toward their disciples.

Historic Inspirations

Under Pujya Shri's guidance, hundreds of grand religious events were organised — Pratishthas, Anjanshalaka, Diksha Mahotsavs, Updhaan Tap Aradhanas, and Shri Navkar Mantra Sadhanas were performed with immense devotion and grandeur.

Majestic tirths like Shri Ayodhyapuram Mahatirth (Dist. Vallabhipur) and Shri Sumeru Navkar Tirth (Dist. Vadodara), both architectural marvels, were established under his spiritual leadership. In addition, historical events like the 140-day Chhari Palak Mahasangh from Surat to Sammed Shikharji, and the 136-day Chhari Palak Yatra from Chennai to Shatrunjay, also took place under his divine blessings.

Throughout all these milestones, the Jain Shri Sangh witnessed in Pujya Shri a rare blend of purity, courage, simplicity, spiritual inspiration, wisdom, and exceptional leadership.

The guiding light and spiritual beacon of Ayodhyapuram Tirth, Pujya Acharyadev Shri Jinchandrasagar Suri Maharaj Saheb, departed from his mortal body on the sacred night of Maha Vad 11 – Wednesday, 7 March 2024, at 1:11 AM.

As per his final wish, his earthly remains were enshrined within the premises of Samadhi Tirth. The lokarpan (dedication) ceremony of this sanctum took place on 6 April 2024, during the Sadguru Sadgun Sankirtan Mahotsav, marking his first monthly remembrance. This divine occasion was graced by Pujya Acharya Shri Ashoksagar Suri Maharaj Saheb, along with Acharyashris, monks, nuns from various Jain gacchas, representatives from Jain communities across India, and thousands of devoted followers.

Today, devotees from across India and abroad visit Ayodhyapuram to pay their heartfelt tributes and remember Pujya Shri’s eternal presence. Every month, on Vad Ekadashi, a Pushpanjali Sabha (floral tribute gathering) is held in his sacred memory.

A plan is also underway to further develop the Samadhi Tirth into a magnificent memorial in the near future.
