Gurukul

Mahopadhyay Shri Dharmasagar Jain Vallabhi Vidyapeeth Free 'Gurukul'

The History of Creation… Creating History

When Param Pujya Bandhu Beladi Acharya Devshri Jinchandrasagar Surishwarji and Acharya Devshri Hemchandrasagar Surishwarji, the inspirers, founders, and guides of Ayodhyapuram Mahatirth, were travelling, they came into contact with many middle-class Jain families whose financial condition was not good. Their children were talented and virtuous, but they faced challenges in obtaining essential practical education. If they could not even get today’s practical, essential education, then what to say about religious education?

A Wonderful Solution – Gurukul
Worried by such thoughts, the revered Acharyas, looking towards the future, considered what the future of the coming Jain generation and the entire Jain order would be if the children of many such families, deprived of religious education, remained uneducated. Not limiting this thought to the level of contemplation, the revered Acharyas put this idea into practice and made it a reality.

By the grace of the supremely compassionate Paramatma and the blessings of their revered Gurudev, the revered Acharyas found a wonderful solution for nurturing the cultured, practical, and religious education-training of the present generation – “Gurukul”! That too, completely free despite being fully equipped. Although this idea was excellent, its practical implementation was extremely difficult. But with strong willpower and faith, the auspicious beginning of this endeavour was made.

Know How
Shri Jayantbhai Mehta, a resident of Rajkot, and his wife Shrimati Tarulataben provided cooperation in this sacred work. Along with that, the auspicious beginning of Mahopadhyay Shri Dharmasagar Vallabhi Vidyapeeth took place one day. As a result, it started with 35 children from grades 6 to 8. Today, this educational journey has reached the milestone of 165 children up to the 10th grade.

Residential Complex Equipped with All Facilities
A new multi-storied residential complex equipped with all facilities has been constructed for the students studying in the Gurukul. It was inaugurated with a dignified ceremony on Sunday, April 7, 2019, under the holy guidance of Pujya Acharya Dev Shri Jinchandrasagar Surishwarji Ma. Sa. and Pujya Acharya Dev Shri Hemchandrasagar Surishwar Ma. Sa. This new residential complex has accommodation, study facilities, and all other necessary basic amenities available for more than 250 students.

This complex was inaugurated for the students coming to study in the Gurukul from the academic session 2019-20, so that they can achieve comprehensive development of their personality in a fully equipped environment.

The children who could not even utter the Navkar Mahamantra before coming to the Gurukul have developed after coming here. Their talent blossomed with all sixteen kalas (artistic skills). The students here started progressing on the Jain cultured path of life with the best conduct and thoughts. After receiving education here, they started becoming so bright that Ayodhyapuram Gurukul has become a leader in the Vallabhipur district.

Today's story… Tomorrow's story...
The glorious story of the Gurukul…
The story of the welfare of the students…

Education is not merely the sum of marks obtained by adding textbooks, but education is the sum of religious values, culture, all-encompassing knowledge, tradition, the words of scriptures, the judicious acceptance of modernity, the preservation of values, and the understanding of Dharma - ethical conduct.
Keeping such supreme ideology in mind, a great centre of learning prepared for the Jain children of the coming generation is…

Ayodhyapuram Mahatirth Gurukul
Yes, this is not just a place of education.
But it is the abode of life…

Brilliant children from Jain families with low income but high religious devotion have to come here wearing the clothes they wear at home, after which our organization takes all responsibility for their living, eating, bathing, clothing, playing, learning, living, and growing, and that too completely free!! We will take full responsibility for the complete upbringing of the children, making them meaningful, religiously rich Shravaks (lay followers), and citizens. That is why the great motto of Ayodhyapuram is:

Supreme Education - The Essence of Values
That is the all-round development of the child
Here, in the guise of children, deities acquire knowledge and values…
This is a school, but its glory is like a Tirth (pilgrimage site).
