The History of Pratishtha (Consecration)

The central attraction of Ayodhyapuram Tirth is the awe-inspiring 23-foot idol of Dada Adinath Bhagwan, radiating divine energy and adorned with a 108 kg silver crown.
The sacred stone for this idol was sourced from the Jeeri mines, located about 70 kilometers from Jaipur. From this very stone, the magnificent idol of Dada Adinath was carved.
The 68-Day Wait… The Emergence of the Idol
The journey of transporting this holy stone from near Jaipur to Ayodhyapuram is both fascinating and worth knowing.
After most of the initial cutting of the sacred rock at Jeeri mine, the stone weighed nearly 300 tons. After the idol was eventually carved from it, its final weight stood at 250 tons. Merely lowering this massive stone from the mine to level ground took 68 days.
This herculean task was carried out by 22 courageous workers from Nashik, who toiled day and night. Remarkably, on Chaitra Sud 13 — the auspicious day of Prabhu Veer Janma Kalyanak — the sacred stone finally touched the ground. A rare and divine coincidence!
A 150-Wheel Trailer Caravan
The next great challenge was transporting the stone to Ayodhyapuram — but when the Divine ordains a task, it is accomplished with His inspiration and strength. Countless people witnessed this truth during the journey of the sacred stone.
The massive stone was loaded onto a 150-wheeled trailer, and an extraordinary caravan set out toward Ayodhyapuram.
Along the route, 19 bridges had to be repaired, and three buildings — including one belonging to a Muslim brother and a portion of a Hanuman temple — had to be dismantled to make way. Yet, none of the four parties demanded compensation. Even four railway gates had to be removed — but not a single obstacle arose.
As the sacred stone moved forward, the path seemed to clear miraculously. It was as though all — the people, the government, and the administration — stood ready to serve the cause of Dada Adinath.
Celebrated Across Villages and Towns
Wherever news spread that the sacred stone destined to become a historic idol was passing through, villagers and townspeople came out in reverence. Along every path and in every city, the stone was welcomed with ceremonial worship, abhishek, and great respect.
On Shravan Vad 8, V.S. 2055, a massive gathering of over 10,000 devotees witnessed the triumphant arrival of the sacred stone at the Ayodhyapuram Tirth, amidst vibrant rituals and immense joy.
The Divine Form Emerges in 36 Months
On the auspicious day of Maha Sud 5, V.S. 2056, the stone was placed on its pedestal, and from that very day, the carving of the idol began.
Simultaneously, a continuous recitation of the Navkar Mantra was initiated in the Navkar Kutir.
On the same day, several ministers of the Gujarat Government, dignitaries, and over a thousand devotees gathered. A symbolic and auspicious gesture was made by the Chhani Sangh, launching a Chhari Palak Yatra from Ayodhyapuram to Shatrunjay Giriraj.
For 36 months, work continued day and night until, at last, the beautiful, grand, and serene 23-foot idol of Dada Adinath Bhagwan was revealed from the sacred stone.
Since then, thousands of devotees visit daily, from early morning till late at night, to receive His darshan, perform pujan, and offer vandan.
With the presence of this sacred, auspicious, and benevolent idol of Dada Adinath Bhagwan, Ayodhyapuram has truly become a sanctified tirth.
For devotees visiting Palitana, their journey feels incomplete until they have had darshan of Dada Adinath at Ayodhyapuram.
